Port Town (ポートタウン, Pōto Taun[?]) is famously known as an intergalactic trades center and the home of bounty hunter and F-Zero racer, Captain Falcon, who lives off the coast on a chain of islands. Port Towns' architecture is marked by towering skyscrapers, pyramid-shaped office buildings and is bordered by mountains. A giant construction robot that looks like R.O.B. in Famicom colors can be seen in the background on top of two buildings in F-Zero GX.

The 26th century is dominated by intense competition between planets for profitable interstellar trade. Due to this competition, other planets have invested huge fortunes in the creation of massive space harbors to increase traffic; Earth's answer to this resulted in the creation of the Port Town space harbor. The Port Town space harbor has been built with the newest technological and aesthetic refinements in mind. This multilayered structure is centered around a massive structure towering three miles above the ground and is the largest space harbor in the universe.[1]

F-Zero

In the original F-Zero Port Town appears twice. The track has dangerous side magnets that drag machines into the sides of the course, starting with a magnet that pulls leftward followed by a set that alternates between pulling right then left.

In Port Town I, these magnets appear just before a straightaway that leads back to the finish line. In Port Town II, the course continues by making a hairpin into a new section in the green area of the course.

Tracks

F-Zero X

Port Town appears four times in F-Zero X: High Jump is rather straightforward, except for a long ramp leading to a daring jump just before the final corner. Also, the outer side of the corner leading to this ramp is coated in a sheet of ice, causing drivers to slip dangerously should they tackle the turn too openly. Snake Road's layout is much like Port Town II from the original, except for the lateral magnets. Port Town 3 contains a zig-zag crank and many narrow places; Port Town 4 is full of traps. Both of the latter are exclusive to the Expansion Kit.

F-Zero GX

Port Town appears three times in F-Zero GX. Aero Dive is a steeped track, Long Pipe sends racers through a pipe, and Cylinder Wave takes place on a complicated cylinder.

Port Town has three tracks in F-Zero: GP Legend: Forked Road, Forked Road II and Port Town II.

In F-Zero 99 Port Town appears twice: Port Town I in the Queen League and Port Town II in the King League and in the Pro Tracks Special Event.

While it is possible to jump over the course by using the first jump pad after the finish line to fly to the right, this is considered a Short Cut Foul and the machine will be moved backwards.
