Jump Plate
This article is a stub.
You can help the F-Zero Wiki by expanding it.
Jump Plates are recurring obstacles in the F-Zero series. Jump Plates will give machines a jump, and the pilot must control where the vehicle lands. Jump Plates can be used to take shortcuts, placed in the middle of the track to increase speed slightly, avoid other racers, or to jump a dangerous gap which would otherwise cause the pilot to crash or explode. Lighter machines jump higher while heavier machines jump lower. Long Jumps are recommended.
In F-Zero
Not landing softly after a jump (hold D-Pad down) will sacrifice speed.
In F-Zero X
In F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Not landing softly after a jump (hold D-Pad down) will drain energy.
In F-Zero GX
In F-Zero: GP Legend
Sand Ocean Caterpillar and Sand Ocean Caterpillar II are filled with Jump Plates. Many times, the player must choose whether to use a Jump Plate to cross over a gap and take a shortcut, or go to the green Health Zone, next to the gap, and regain health.
Not landing softly after a jump (hold D-Pad down) will drain energy.
In F-Zero Climax
