Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, known as Dairantō Sumasshu Burazāzu Supesharu (大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズSPECIAL, lit. Great Fray Smash Bros. Special) in Japan, is an upcoming game in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch. The game was first teased on March 8, 2018 before being officially fully unveiled at E3 2018. It will include Captain Falcon as a returning fighter, and several other elements from the F-Zero series also return or are introduced. The game released worldwide on December 7, 2018.

Captain Falcon returns as a playable character, he is unlocked by clearing Classic Mode as Fox, being the first in his unlock tree, the 11th character in VS mode matches or freeing him in World of Light. His moveset and characteristics remain largely unchanged from the previous games, aside from some animation and style changes.
Big Blue from Super Smash Bros. Melee, Port Town Aero Dive from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mute City from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS are confirmed as returning stages.
Samurai Goroh returns as an Assist Trophy character and can be interacted with as if he were a computer fighter.
